The dream Michalis Bakatsakis & Pantelis Krasadakis In my sleep tonight after a long time We began a sweet conversation and we spoke Where were you, I said, for so many years, and you forgot me- I never, never forgot you, you told me softly And the heart prepared for a little celebration and dancing, Come, my dream of this night made me happy Come, tonight I dreamt of you and I have great joy, Come, whenever you want into my dream and bring me Whenever she comes into my dreams, whenever she wants Come, my dream tonight I would have liked unraveled A kiss in my sleep she came and gave me. Come that I could see you even only through my dream. If they were true, the dreams I see Come, the dream that I saw late in the evening, aman, aman*, that I could see it again. My forever, my babe, my forever companion, I have you in my dreams, (translation: Eva Johanos) |
I’ve been listening to a lot of music on the site, and this seems a bit different. The lyrics blew me away, and I found the music uplifting but soothing somehow. Is there some other influence in this music that I can’t quite sort out?
This music is deeply steeped in ancient musical traditions of Crete, with a distinctive flavor and energy. . . notice how the rhythm shifts from a ballad into a lively dance. Isn’t it great! Definitely transforming nostalgia into a passionate zest for life. . fantastic!
Such a fine articulation of feelings that anyone who has loved must know at some time of life…
Just to say
