Katsantonis / Κατσαντώνης

Katsantonis

traditional Epirotiko song about a famous “kleftis”, a revolutionary outlaw in the mountains of northern Greece,
“Katsantonis”- whose name, we are told, came from his mother’s asking him to stay, when he would go and fight for freedom…
Martyred at an early age, he symbolizes bravery and sacrifice. In honor of all the heroes who inspire us with their courage and their love of country and the ideal of liberty against all odds.
