From the notes of the video: “Remake in America of the song by Anestos Delias, one year after the recording in Athens. It was recorded in the USA in 1938. Yiorgos Katsaros interprets [it] amazingly. The song is a masterpiece as sung by Delias with Payioumtzis and it remains one with the interpretation of Katsaros, who sings it “differently” with his own way and naturally with guitar instead of bouzouki. MASTERPIECE.”
Some of the words have been changed for this version; for example, “girl from Athens” remains in the title but throughout the song is changed to “leventissa” (which I am here translating as “gorgeous.”)
