‘Mode Plagal is a group which using the technique of jazz has created a musiclal idiom which is set apart, with major references to traditional Greek music but also to Byzantine sounds, Balkan, African, funky, groovy, rock, blues rhythms and many other elements which exist in their music as influences. Balancing on the edge of all of these elements with mastery and putting them together with their spontaneity and positive energy- a basic element of the mood of their work- they have managed to produce their own musical idiom and a sound which has by now become recognized. Since 1990 when they first appeared as a figure through today, Mode Plagal has traced a steady ascension, working collectively as a group with an independent musical nature and position, earning the right to their characterization.’ |
Οι Mode Plagal είναι ένα συγκρότημα που χρησιμοποιώντας την τεχνοτροπία της jazz, δημιούργησαν ένα ξεχωριστό μουσικό ιδίωμα, με αναφορές κατά κύριο λόγο στην ελληνική παραδοσιακή μουσική αλλά και σε βυζαντινούς ήχους, βαλκανικούς, αφρικάνικους, funky, groovy, rock, blues ρυθμούς και σε πολλά άλλα στοιχεία που υπάρχουν στην μουσική τους ως επιρροές.
Ακροβατώντας με μαεστρία ανάμεσα σε όλα αυτά τα στοιχεία και συνδυάζοντάς τα με τον αυθορμητισμό και το κέφι τους -βασικό στοιχείο του ύφους της δουλειάς τους- έχουν καταφέρει να παράγουν ένα δικό τους μουσικό ιδίωμα και έναν αναγνωρίσιμο πλέον ήχο. Από το 1990 που πρωτοεμφανίστηκαν ως σχήμα μέχρι σήμερα, οι Mode Plagal έχουν διαγράψει μια σταθερή ανοδική πορεία, λειτουργώντας συλλογικά ως γκρουπ με αυτόνομη μουσική φύση και θέση, δικαιώνοντας τον χαρακτηρισμό. |
